To begin, you will need to have a few texture paper with substantial hardness. As you are afterall making a card. And since it's gonna be a pop-out card you will need one with sufficient strength.

The couple below is an example of the 2 characters which will appear when the card opens. However, do go ahead do put in your own drawing if you like.

This will be part of the cover page. Do note that the center portion of the card is left blank. Which is meant to be cut out.. and layer a piece of Transparency underneath.

And the "Snow Flakes" will be the cover page. They are split 1/2 as you will under stand why soon.

And finally the background. As you can see there are 2 fold lines.

At this point, I have no shown how each pieces are to be joint to each other or the pop-out mechanism.

This card was designed a year ago... how time has passed.
I have since gotten married (http://whenjeffmeetscindy.blogspot.com) and a beautiful baby (www.travisten.blogspot.com)

Some time ago I got a message from someone who was interested to make a Christmas card for someone special. And so I decided that I should share...

The card should look something like that. When its closed you can see snow flakes floating down.

When the card is opened you will see 2 love birds enjoying beautiful white Christmas.

I will post the templates and the material required in my next post.

As mentioned in my previous post, I will try to improve the aestheticism of the cover, I have line it with printed ribbon which really do wonder to the over all image of the card.
So if you happened to see beautiful ribbon.. buy them. You never know when you gonna need it. LOL...

I did not take much work in progress picture for this pop-up card. However, if you wish to replicate one yourself, feel free to contact me and I will try to provide as much information as possible.

First Look of how the New Pop-out card

As promised in Yesterday's post, I have uploaded Pictures of my a new Pop-out Card design, I shall name this "Celebrate our Love", When the card is opened, The "Dance Floor" will extend towards the edge of the card and the couple dancing will moves forward "poping out" from the background. And at the same time My Girlfriend's name will be lighted up. Depicting Fireworks spelling up her name. And to further enhanced the "Fire Works "effect, as the card opens, on the left top corner you will notice a bundle of shiny strips blossoming as the card opens. All in all to create a fireworks exploding in the sky as the couple enjoy the dance.

I will be showing a few other pictures of the cover decorated. Please stay tuned.

A new Pop-up Card design on the way

Well, its not exactly new. Its about 7th month old. I made this card for my Girl last valentine's. I was thinking of how can I create a spectacular card to express my feeling for her?? I have had stars spelling her names in my previous card to her, what can I do next??

We were watching fireworks one evening.. And the display was spectacular!! Awesome. Mindblowing... beyond words.. and suddenly a new idea pops into my mind..

What If i could have the fireworks exploding into her Name Flash across the sky!
I can't possibly made fireworks or afford one..So I decided to recreate the senerio into a POP-OUT card. That is how the idea was concieved. I will be showing my Work in progress in the next few post. Check back for updates

I've created a set of templates for the card featured earlier. So for those who want to make a pop-out for that special someone that you are missing, Here's what I promised. Part 1 of the template is up. I will be loading part 2 tomorrow.
However, for detailed instructions. kindly contact me. Bascially you just have to cut these images out and stick to the Back Bone of the pop-out card. (to be uploaded soon)

I was missing my girl, and suddenly, Kenny loggin's song was playing on air..
"MEET ME HALFWAY ACROSS THE SKY..."
And I really wish i could do just that.. I wanted to put this idea into a pop-out card. A card that can make the characters come together and touch each other. And the Stars spell out your thoughts. Words are just words. just like the song. but if I could put the motion into a a card. It might blow her away..
So I created this Pop-out card.
